Bangladesh could ratify Hong Kong recycling convention ‘in the next few weeks’
Shipowners’ Association Bimco is optimistic an international ship recycling regulation is set to meet the entry into force requirement following a visit to ship breakers in Bangladesh. Bimco said that during the visit the Bangladesh government had confirmed it will ratify the Hong Kong Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Friendly Recycling of Ships (HKC) and it expected it to happen “in the next few weeks”.
