31m in ‘fragile middle’ as poverty rises, investment stagnates in Bangladesh

According to the PPRC study, moderate poverty in Bangladesh climbed sharply to 27.9% in 2025, up from 18.7% in 2022. Extreme poverty almost doubled over the same period, rising from 5.6% to 9.35%.
